Thanks to all who made the Great Ledbury Celebration a Great Success

The sun shone for the Great Ledbury Celebration 2017, and the High Street was filled with local food – 30 local producers bringing their varied produce to market, lining the street with their stalls as in an old time market. Trade was good, the ice-cream ran out twice, and the seating area organised by the Nest was a popular place to sit and soak up the atmosphere.

Our local food market in the High Street featuring 30 stalls selling the best in local food and (for this year) non-alcoholic local drink was just one of the ways Ledbury celebrated the 400th anniversary of the Market House and the Ledbury Poetry Festival’s 21st birthday.

We owe thanks to many organisations across Ledbury who contributed to produce this very special day, including Ledbury Town Council, Ledbury Poetry Festival, Ledbury Food Group, the Friends of the Master’s House, the Youth Council, the Ledbury Fringe, Joined Up Heritage, local businesses including our own sponsor the Nest, traders and performers.

We are also very grateful to the very many residents of Ledbury and District and to our visitors who filled the High Street enjoyed the entertainment and made the day a great success.

Please let us know what you thought of the event, how we could do things better and whether you think we should continue to hold this annual event in the High Street by emailing ask@ledburyfoodgroup.org.

Griff Holliday of Ledbury Food Group: “The sun shone on a fabulous festival of local food – bringing the market to the Market House and all ages of the community to the High Street”
