Thanks to all those, residents and visitors, who joined in with one (or more) Ledbury breakfast in our cafes, hotels or pubs, or bought a special breakfast from our butchers and food shops.
Thanks of course to the 20 local independent businesses and their staff who took part in this year’s event for their originality in bringing local food and breakfast together in so many ways.
Well done to the Muse for their special umbrella auction and raffle which raised over £250 for the Mayor of Ledbury’s chosen charities.
Well done to Handley Organics whose popular Syrian style breakfast raised over £700 for Syrian Refugees.
Well done to Maggie Freeman, whose recipe for a sausage featuring herbs and spices won the competition run by Llandinabo Farm Shop and Caffe No 21. Over 50 entries were received.
Well done to Homend Bakery Teashop, the Seven Stars and Ceci Paolo who took part for the first time – they were all pleased with your response.
On the Friday, the High Sheriff of Herefordshire Bill Jackson and the Mayor of Ledbury Councillor Debbie Baker supported the event by enjoying a Ledbury breakfast. Bill Wiggin MP then joined the High Sheriff and the Mayor to call in at many of the venues. We always need to remind the wider community of the importance of local food.
Please let us know of any ideas you have for us to make the next Big Breakfast even better – write to ask@ledburyfoodgroup.org.
Our next event: Enjoying Chocolate on Friday 10th February.
