Join us for Ledbury’s “midwinter food festival” over the weekend of Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February – the 7th Ledbury Big Breakfast.
19 local venues in and around Ledbury will be taking part on one or more days in this event organised by Ledbury Food Group to celebrate our local food and drink producers and retailers and breakfast.
Specials this year include breakfast pancakes or muffins, hummous on toasted sourdough with tomatoes and spinach, almond croissants, Vegan tofu scramble, Shakshouka eggs, Beef Hash cakes, a Bloody Mary breakfast, Hereford Hop rarebit, Crispy fish and duck egg, Croque Monsieur, Bara Brith (vegan) with Perl Wen and toast with Chuckleberry Jam.
Favourites are there too including Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine, French toast with bacon and syrup and an old “traditional” – devilled kidneys. A number of venues will provide you with a full “Herefordshire” English breakfast.
Our butchers – Gurneys and Wallers – will feature special breakfast items to celebrate the Ledbury Big Breakfast for you to take away and enjoy, and our delis will feature a range of local produce to taste and take home to make a special breakfast.
Ledbury Refugee Support are holding a special Middle Eastern breakfast at the Organic Café (above Handley Organics) on the Saturday to raise funds.
For a rural breakfast, visit those taking part outside Ledbury Town.
The Country Market at St Katherine’s Hall on Friday will have lots of local produce for sale.
If you want to find out more about the Ledbury Food Bank, you can visit them between 10am and 11.45am on Friday at St. Katherine’s Hall.
Things get very busy on the Saturday morning – if you see something or somewhere you fancy please book in advance where possible to avoid disappointment. More places are open for business on Sunday.
