Ciderlands – Celebrating our Local Cider Heritage

The band’s booked, the pizza’s on order, there’s more than 50 ciders on offer from a dozen different regions – put the date in your diary. On 11th October, Ciderlands @ Museum of Cider is Go!

This festival event open to all – and essential if you appreciate good cider – will show off the museum and its facilities including its latest exhibition “The Art of Women in Cider”.

Cider will be available at the Three Counties Cider Bar with more than 50 ciders on offer from around the world, plus pizza and music from Whose Hands Are These.

London’s urban cidery, Hawkes, will be escaping the Big Smoke, to bring its mobile Txotx! Machine, a tribute to the northern Spanish style of Sidra Natural.

Representatives from Herefordshire CAMRA’s Press2Pub initiative will also be present, along with members of key orcharding groups.

The next evening Chef Simon Bolsover crafts a Cider Banquet expertly paired with the region’s finest ciders and perries at The Green Dragon Hotel.

The event celebrates Herefordshire hosting Ciderlands Makers & Lovers, the international cider tourism network, who are meeting in Herefordshire in the run-up to The Big Apple’s Harvestime Festival over the weekend. Tourism representatives from a dozen cider regions will visit local “cider” attractions such as Weston’s Cider at Much Marcle, and events taking place within the Harvestime Festival. By sharing our region’s unique cider culture and heritage the aim is to inspire more of the world’s growing band of cider lovers to visit Herefordshire.
