New Ledbury Evening Farmers’ Market is a success

Ledbury’s new Evening Farmers’ Market was successfully launched by Ledbury Food Group in association with The Barn, Ledbury last Thursday (4th July).

Twelve local food producers joined in this exciting new venture which was very well supported by some ardent market goers. On offer were fresh beef and lamb, local cheese, freshly raised pies, vegetables, preserves, chillies, cakes and food to eat “on the go”. All the fresh foods on offer sold out, some in less than 30 minutes. To add to the feast, local musicians provided entertainment.

Fran Robinson, chair of Ledbury Food Group said, “We thank all those who came to the market. It’s a great opportunity for those who can’t attend daytime markets because of work or other commitments to discover just how good the products of our local producers can be. Our next market is on Thursday 1st August from 6pm and then first Thursday monthly and I am sure there will be more on offer.

This is not Ledbury Food Group’s only market this month. Next Sunday (14th July) the Ledbury Celebration between 11am and 5pm at St Katherine’s will feature at least 25 local producers with food to take home to savour and to eat while enjoying the entertainment laid on by Ledbury Fringe and Ledbury Poetry Festival.
